Seaweed 03:10
Always under, even in my dreams Will there be a time where shoes will speak? Washed and jostled under the sea There is nothing more to be Where did I go What can I be Nothing more than seaweed Submit to the tide of the sea For we are nothing but seaweed
3.
Run 03:02
Bring it all onto ourselves and strap it all up Put it on our shoulders and take it away Trudge through the day and run away Until the skin on my toes is flayed And we'll run, and we'll run, And we'll run, and we'll run, 'Til our knees cave in and we can't shoot our guns And we'll run, and we'll run, And we'll run 'Til our eyes burn out and we can't see the sun Until we can't see the sun Until our eyes burn out and we can't see the sun Run until I'm sanded away and my lungs explode when my breath can't escape Run until I'm sanded away and my lungs explode when my breath can't escape Run away, run away

Subtle scratches And fuzzy image I can only see you in your Rural glow The sun aids your face But ruins my camera Making the image Unavailable You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad You whisper tales softly Through a tape I can hear your throat Your lips Your eyes If only I could see it here And see your Coffee stained existence, oh You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad You live in a world of my memory Of a life I never had I would love to live with trees and people But to everyone, I'm mad

Unwind Me 03:53
He was always a good conversationalist Always quick to catch on every cynical twitch But he always noticed one little glitch: No one picked up on his He'd rather twiddle analog knobs He knew he'd make not a single friend He'd rather sit in his cabin Than deal with these guys again His music proved overtly brilliant But no one will see his mind's shape He was a wonderful hermit Who chose to live through tape
7.
Control 03:54
I am a cyborg of emotions anymore Humans have become a thing of lore I need to be plugged in to work But I'm always in standby Considering things that never are I've been out here for years Speaking into nothing but robots Things that I have control over I need to be plugged in to work But I'm always in standby Considering things that never are I want to lose control I am losing control
8.
She is the most beautiful thing in this world Like the soft songs I make on my tapes She made my field all shiny She lives in a world of my memory And yet I feel so embarassed and furious Perhaps she was curious? I live here in this cabin, door shut With nothing but a greasy window to peer through I would love to lay her voice Onto vinyl Onto tapes If only it was possible She was my greatest recording That of which I will never hear She is but a perfect human And I just a simple robot A cyborg
9.
ZoneHaus 03:17
Fare thee well!
10.
Don't leave me here to die I want you here all of the time ..."Are you gonna bark all day, little doggie? Or are you gonna bite?"
11.
Cut Them 04:27
She dangles out like a sick puppet A sick, beautiful puppet She walks and smokes She's got you evoked You can't be the puppeteer You can't tell what you can't hear You can't be the puppeteer You can't tell what you can't hear You can't have it You won't have it She dangles out like a sick puppet A sick, beautiful puppet She walks and smokes She's got you evoked You can't be the puppeteer You can't tell what you can't hear You can't be the puppeteer You can't tell what you can't hear She walks and smokes She's got you evoked You can't be the puppeteer You can't tell what you can't hear
12.
Birds 05:10
You can try to fly but please don't go I won't smile when you're long gone at home Please honor this last request, I Pray you won't fly from this nest, for I often find myself all alone. You've flown far by now, in this I'm sure I've repelled you miles from my core I don't know why I'm so bad, I Figured you'd just give me a try But now I find myself all alone. You've found your nest outside of these trees I'm still here, but could you come back please? I'm reaching my final breaths, I Need a witness to my death, I Really don't want to die all alone.

Poor Ian 05:33
Ian was a good boy, stayed home and out of the light Ian was a school boy, all of his grades and marks were right Ian always wondered about life outside Sun shining down but he averts his eyes Ian ran away and looked for the forest he knew Trees or people, he was the one who outgrew Ian found a quiet home in the woods Twiddling knobs, it's all he knew he could Ian met a woman who encaptured him at very first sight Ian took a step and realized that his efforts were trite Ian turned around and made one last tape Ian died alone with no one around to say... It's all going to be okay.

about

This is a backlogged record, endearingly called a 'Printer Prelude'. I find these records to be dated, of a lesser quality, and not as indicative of my current level of musicianship, however there are some good songs here. This was written long ago, but brought back to life. There is an accompanying podcast explaining this older record, which you can find at basicprinter.com/podcast. Enjoy!

This is a concept album about a boy named Ian and his internal troubles. Enjoy the story with the help of the provided lyrics.

This is definitely my most experimental release to date and features many sounds that exist merely because I knew I could make them. I hope you find as much in this as I tried to put into it.
